SYP Automatic Fluid Sampler

The SYP Automatic Fluid Sampler is a cutting-edge device developed at the University of Waikato.

It revolutionises the process of fluid sampling in various industries. With its advanced technology and precise functionality, this sampler offers unparalleled efficiency and accuracy in collecting up to 58 discrete, silicon-sealed samples fluid samples for analysis and testing purposes.

Its automated features allow for seamless integration into existing workflows. It operates in hard-to-reach environments, saving valuable time and resources.

Equipped with state-of-the-art sensors and intelligent sampling algorithms, this innovative device ensures representative samples are collected from different points within a fluid system.

The SYP Automatic Fluid Sampler offers the following features:

  • Dependable gathering and preservation of 58 separate, silicon-sealed samples
  • Up to a year of uninterrupted functioning running from AA batteries
  • Option for either gravity-fed or pumped sample collection
  • Simultaneous recording of temperature, pressure, humidity, and full vial events
  • Convenient transportation by disassembling into two halves, with the option of custom carry-bags
  • Simple setup and configuration through an easy-to-use smartphone app via Bluetooth connectivity
  • Versatile programming of sampling schedules based on time or sensor data

The use of an automated fluid sampler by environmental scientists and monitoring agencies can be crucial in examining the relationships between climate, ecology, and the repercussions of industrialisation and human activities on our environment.

Currently our knowledge is restricted due to the challenges associated with acquiring regular, high quality water samples, which are both expensive and time-consuming to obtain.

The SYP Automatic Fluid Sampler, created by the University of Waikato, is specifically designed to cater to the needs of field-active climate scientists, environmental researchers, and water monitoring agencies.

Dr. Adam Hartland, a researcher at the University, is using this innovative device to develop models that can accurately forecast weather patterns and climate conditions. With the assistance of this cutting-edge technology, Adam and his team are able to carry out comprehensive research in previously inaccessible locations.

We are consistently impressed with Carl & Bentech’s ability to create clever and elegant solutions to complex engineering problems and leverage their partnerships to deliver streamlined, affordable and robust results.
Bentech has become an invaluable asset for early prototype development through to product manufacturing.
